CHAAT BHAVAN REVIEW- Fremont Location
5355 Mowry Ave, Fremont, CA 94538, USA
Chaat Bhavan serves vegetarian Indian food
We arrived at around 1 PM , so the wait was not very long. The interior is very pleasing to the eyes with its orange wall decor and warm toned lighting. The area has. a very comforting vibe to it. We sat in a table next to an arrangement of succulent plants. There is also a booth option if that is what you prefer. The menu has a wide variety of options ranging from "Mouth watering snacks" to vegetable delights". The selection also covers a medley of dishes from various regions of India. We decided on the chaat basket and gobi manchurian for the appetizers. We also got the vegetable korma and paneer tikka masala with roti.
Item: Gobi Manchurian
What the menu says: Crisp cauliflower florets, green onion, soy, garlic, and Chaat Bhavan special manchurian sauce
What it is: Crispy stir fried cauliflower.
The verdict: The cauliflower is crispy and piping hot. There is a subtle sweetness in the sauce that enhances the flavour of the cauliflower. The bell pepper adds in an extra crunch. The sauce also adds in a slight kick that complements the sweetness. This dish is jam packed with flavor and it also has a great texture. Reasonable portion for the price.
The score: 9/10 Highly Recommend!
Items: Chaat Basket
What the menu says:Basket shaped wafers stuffed with sprouts, potatoes, chutney, yogurt and sprinkled with sev

Korma -Korma is a mixed vegtable dish with spices.
Paneer tikka masala- Paneer tikka masala is fresh cubed cottage cheese drowned in a spiced tomato sauce.
Roti-Roti is a whole wheat flatbread
The verdict:
Korma- The vegetables were soft and crunchy. The sauce is very rich and it has hint of tomato. There is a frightening amount of food coloring, it would be better if there was none. I'd prefer not having anything stain at all. The spices were a little weak and they didn't deliver the same distinctive taste a korma sauce usually would.
Paneer tikka masala- Paneer tikka masala is a staple when it comes to eating out as a vegetarian Indian. The sauce was very similar to the korma sauce, but it went nicely with the paneer. If you are feeling more healthy, you can just get the korma instead. There is an excessive amount of food coloring once again.
Roti- The roti is very light and soft. It is a basic item that restaurants can not mess up.
The score:
Korma: 7/10 Pretty good!
Paneer tikka masala:8/10 Worth a try!
Roti: 10/10 Good!
